A WARM WELCOME TO GWYNETH WILLIAMS, TOPSY TRUSTEE

Gwyneth is Controller of BBC Radio 4 and 4 Extra. Before that she was Director of the BBC World Service in English, Editor of the Reith Lectures for many years and Head of Radio Current Affairs. She worked briefly at the Overseas Development Institute and took five years out of formal employment in the 1980s to be with her children. She has published two books, one, co-authored with Brian Hackland, on Southern Africa and another on Third World political organisations. She grew up in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa and is an Honorary Fellow of St Hugh’s College, Oxford where she was educated.
